The challenge

Effluent from textile dyeing and finishing is one of the hardest industrial wastewaters to treat: strong colour, high COD, suspended solids, and large swings in flow, pH and temperature between dyeing batches. The factory needed a reliable plant to treat 750 m³ of wastewater every day before discharge.

Our solution

Target designed and built a complete treatment line on the factory site:

  • Biological treatment with aeration
  • Chemical treatment with automatic coagulant and polymer dosing
  • Lamella clarifier for solids separation
  • Final filtration
  • Control panel and dosing pumps for simple day-to-day operation

Dyeing and finishing need soft, clean water: hardness and iron cause uneven shades, spots on fabric and scale in boilers and dyeing machines. Target supplied a treatment plant combining a large pressure filter, automatic multi-vessel softeners and chemical dosing to deliver treated process water to the factory.

Boiler Feed Water Treatment Plant for a Dyeing & Finishing Factory

  • Location: Obour City, Cairo, Egypt
  • Sector: Textile dyeing and finishing

Installed in the factory’s boiler room, the plant treats boiler make-up water through a sand filter, an activated carbon filter and two automatic water softeners, with chemical dosing, feeding a deaerator that removes dissolved oxygen before the water enters the boilers.
